Laser Teeth Whitening Procedure
Laser teeth whitening is simple and safe! The procedure is carried out by fully qualified accredited technicians.
After a full, in depth consultation you can sit back and relax as your dreams of a whiter smile become a reality! There are just a few easy steps to your brighter, whiter smile!
The ImBeautiful technician will match your teeth to a Vita shade chart. A plastic retractor is gently placed into your mouth to hold your smile in position and a protective gel is applied to the gums. The whitening gel is applied to your teeth and the laser light is started for a timed cycle of ten minutes. The full treatment is two-three sets of fifteen minutes. This is removed after each fifteen minutes and reapplied to achieve the desired results.
Finally, when the gum and plastic retractor are removed, you can rinse out your mouth and start to enjoy your new smile right away. The technician will then match your teeth to the new colour on the Vita shade chart!
Following the laser teeth whitening treatment, you will be given an aftercare sheet.

FAQ
Does Teeth Whitening really work?
Of course it does!. The surface of the teeth contains millions of microscopic pores and over time, organic compounds from food, fizzy drinks, tea, coffee and tobacco etc settle into these pores and cause discoloration of the tooth enamel. Almost all natural teeth respond to the whitening process and can lift between 5 and 15 shades!
Does Teeth whitening damage the enamel of the teeth?
Extensive research shows there is no risk to the enamel of the teeth. This procedure has been carried out in America and Australia for many years.
Does the whitening work on veneers, crowns, bridges or fillings?
The Whitening procedure will not whiten crowns, veneers, bridges or fillings, however they will be restored to their original colour.
What is the difference between Laser Teeth whitening and home whitening kits?
Laser Teeth whitening is only carried out by a professionally qualified therapist. The procedure is fast, efficient and your smile can be up to 12 times whiter within an hour!!
How long will the results last for?
The Beautiful Smile laser light procedure will stay noticeably whiter for 18-24 months; however periodic top ups, (one fifteen-minute Beautiful Smile laser treatment usually every 6-12 months) should be performed to keep the smile at its brightest.
Who can benefit from Teeth Whitening?
Anyone over the age of 16 can have their teeth whitened. However pregnant ladies and nursing mothers should contact their doctor before using any teeth whitening.
Is it the practice of dentistry?
Tooth whitening products were confirmed as being cosmetics on 28th June 2001 by the House of Lords ruling in the case of Optident Limited V The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry. This means that they fall under the EU Cosmetics Directive (implemented in the UK by the UK Cosmetic Products (Safety) Regulations 1996).
The Legal Definition of a cosmetic product is:
"any substance or preparation intended for placing in contact with the various external part of the human body or with the teeth and mucous membranes of the oral cavity with a view exclusively or principally to cleaning them, perfuming them or protecting them in order to keep them in good condition, change their appearance or correct body odours"
Tooth whitening is therefore a cosmetic procedure as well as a dental one.
