IPL Laser Technology...Safe & effective innovation in permanent hair reduction & skin treatments.
We use the latest generation LYNTON IPL which have inbuilt cooling systems resulting in faster, more effective and safer treatments. We treat men and women, skin types 1 to 5 and most body areas.
How does it work?
The IPL Laser beam is absorbed by the melanin or pigment in the hair and transports the heat to the hair follicle which then disables the hair.
The hair will then slide out of the hair follicle within 7-14 days.
As the hair grows in 3 stages, IPL Laser treatment is only effective in treating the hair which is in the Anagen or Active Growth Phase - this is the reason several treatments are required.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually between 6-8 treatments are required once every 4-6 weeks. Unless there is an underlying medical condition such as PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) or the client is taking medication which is stimulating hair growth. (We treat clients with PCOS and can discuss the outcome at consultation)
What happens during a treatment?
The area to be treated is assessed by the IPL/Laser Consultant and protective eyewear is given to the client to wear.
The IPL/laser is then applied to the area to be treated, gently sitting on the skin and the beam is delivered.
At all times the client is treated with dignity and respect. Client safety and comfort is our main priority.
A consultation and patch test is carried out on all clients prior to first treatment, this is free of charge.
Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, epilation, hair removal creams and bleaching prior to and during hair removal treatments. Hair should be shaved prior to treatment (night before) and be no longer than 1mm in length.
IPL hair removal does not treat white, grey or blond hair.
